The American securities regulator's public database of company filings, searchable by company and by form type, free to use.

Its Indian counterparts are the two exchanges' filing archives and the corporate affairs ministry's registry, which together hold results, shareholding patterns, presentations and, for a fee, the accounts of unlisted subsidiaries.

The registry is the underused one. A group's unlisted entities are where related-party flows and guarantees often become visible.
