Terms of use
The Analyst’s Path · last updated 23 September 2026
The whole programme is free. The one paid option we plan, ₹100 a month to remove the ads, is not on sale yet, and when it is you will be able to stop it whenever you like. These terms exist because two payment providers require them and because it is fair to write down what we owe each other.
1. What this is
The Analyst’s Path is a self-paced course in financial analysis, covering accounting through valuation, consulting cases and the case interview, with drills, spaced repetition, code exercises and an investing simulator. It runs in your browser, and a free account syncs your progress across your devices.
2. Everything is free
Every module, case, drill, code exercise, dataset and cross-device sync is free to use, for everyone, with or without an account and with or without paying. Nothing is held back for paying users. If you ever see anything on this site suggesting otherwise, it is a mistake, tell us and we will fix it.
It is paid for by short adverts shown before you open a module, and by the people who choose to turn those off.
3. The one thing you can buy
Status at launch: ad-free is not on sale yet. Until it is, sections 3 and 4 describe a plan that cannot be bought, and no charge can arise from using this site.
Ad-free, at ₹100 a month (about $1.50 outside India), or ₹1,000 a year. It removes the advert before a module. It changes nothing else at all: not what you can read, not what you can practise, not what you can download.
There is a 7-day free trial, once per account, with no card required. When it ends the ads come back and nothing else happens.
4. Renewals, failures and cancelling
- A subscription renews monthly (or yearly) until you cancel it.
- Cancel any time from Account → Ad-free. Ad-free continues to the end of the period you have already paid for; nothing renews after that.
- If a renewal payment fails, ad-free stays on for roughly a week while the payment provider retries. You are not charged for that week. If it still fails, the ads come back, that is the whole consequence. Your account is not suspended, restricted, or marked in any way.
- Refunds: see the refund policy. The short version is that we refund unused months on request.
Prices are shown before you pay and every charge produces a receipt under Account → Receipts. If we ever change the price, it applies to renewals after we have told you, never retroactively.
5. Your account
- You need an account only for cross-device sync, the leaderboard, and ad-free. The course itself works signed out.
- Keep your password to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. We store passwords only as bcrypt hashes and can never read yours.
- One human per account, please. Sharing an ad-free subscription across a class is not what it is priced for, but note that the class does not need it: the content is free.
- You can delete your account by writing to us. Local data lives in your browser and you can export or clear it yourself at any time from Account → Your data.
6. Things that will get an account closed
Only these: attacking the service or other users, automated scraping that degrades it for everyone, payment fraud, or using the leaderboard to harass someone. We will tell you why, and you keep your local data, it is on your device, not ours.
7. Content and copyright
The course text, exercises, datasets and code are ours (or used with permission) and are provided for your own learning. You may quote it, print it, and use it in your own work and study. You may not republish it wholesale or sell it as your own.
Company filings, market data and public documents referenced in the course belong to their respective owners and are used for teaching and commentary. Worked examples are frequently synthetic or de-identified teaching specimens rather than real companies, and are labelled where that matters.
The methods and frameworks the course teaches were developed by many people, and we name every one of them: see attributions and sources. Quotations are kept short and attributed where they appear. If you hold rights in anything named there and think we have overstepped, write to us, we reply within seven days.
Your work is yours. Notes, journal entries, portfolios and answers you write stay yours; we do not claim any licence over them and we do not train anything on them.
8. This is education, not investment advice
This is the important one. Nothing here is investment, tax, accounting or legal advice, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy or sell any security. The simulator is a teaching instrument: it uses historical and synthetic scenarios, it is not connected to any brokerage, no real money moves through it, and a good result in it predicts nothing about a real market.
We are not a registered investment adviser or research analyst in any jurisdiction, and we do not manage anyone’s money. If you are making an actual financial decision, take advice from someone regulated to give it.
We also do not guarantee any outcome from finishing the course, not a job, not an exam result, not a promotion. We teach the material as well as we can and grade it honestly. What you do with it is yours.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the service up and your data safe, but we do not promise uptime and there is no support SLA. If our server is unreachable, what you do in the app is kept in your browser and synced when the server is back.
10. Liability
We provide the service as it is. To the extent the law allows, our total liability to you for anything connected with this service is limited to what you have actually paid us in the twelve months before the claim, which for most people is zero, and at most ₹1,200 or so. We do not exclude liability for fraud, or for anything else the law does not permit us to exclude.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change anything that affects you materially, the price, what is free, how your data is handled, we will say so in the app and by email to account holders before it takes effect. The date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
12. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the law of India, and the courts there have jurisdiction. If something has gone wrong, email us first: almost everything is faster to fix that way, and we have never yet had a complaint that was worth a lawyer.
13. Contact
Seller identity, address and email are on the contact page, which is also where to write about anything on this one.
