Annual report

Also called annual report (India), integrated annual report.

The document an Indian listed company publishes each year, containing the board's report, the management discussion, the corporate governance report, and the audited standalone and consolidated financial statements with their notes.

It's far longer than it needs to be and most of its length is designed to be skimmed. With practice you can get the substance in 45 to 60 minutes by ignoring the page order and reading in a fixed sequence.

Start at the back, with the auditor's report. Then read the notes that carry the judgement and the cash flow statement. After those come the balance sheet and the income statement, and only then the narrative sections at the front.

Marketing writes the front of the report. The back is written under liability, so trust the back.
